Workforce management specialist

The primary responsibility of the Workforce Management Specialist at LawnStarter is to ensure optimal staffing levels across all operational departments. This role involves analyzing staffing requirements, forecasting demand, creating and managing schedules, and overseeing timekeeping for employees. The specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing employee productivity and satisfaction by developing efficient work schedules that meet both customer demands and internal goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Management: Develop and manage employee schedules across multiple departments to optimize coverage and meet both customer demands and business objectives.
  • Collaboration with Departments: Work closely with Human Resources, Operations, and Customer Service departments to align workforce strategies with overall business goals.
  • Performance Analysis: Regularly analyze workforce efficiency and productivity, providing reports to senior management and recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions for staff on new tools, policies, and procedures related to workforce management to ensure smooth adoption and compliance.
  • Employee Engagement: Engage with employees to gather feedback on scheduling and workload, aiming to improve satisfaction and reduce turnover rates.

Requirements

    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in workforce management or operational planning: Demonstrates practical, hands-on expertise in a relevant field.
    • Proven track record managing teams of 10 or more: Indicates the candidate’s ability to handle leadership and team management responsibilities.
    • Strong analytical skills: Ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions that impact the company’s oExcellent communication skills: Necessary for effective collaboration across various departments and levels of management.
    • Problem-solving abilities: Capacity to address and resolve scheduling conflicts and other operational challenges promptly.
    • Detail-oriented: Attention to detail is crucial for managing complex scheduling and compliance with labor regulations.
    • Adaptability and flexibility: The ability to manage changing priorities and operational demands, especially important in dynamic or seasonal industries.
    • Project management experience: Skills in overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and operations.
    • Expertise in Microsoft 365 Suite: Including strong skills in Excel for data analysis, Outlook for communication, Teams for collaboration, and SharePoint for document management.
