Virtual Health Coach – Call Center

You are a caring, compassionate individual who enjoys helping others and providing a positive care experience in a telemedicine platform. You understand the frustrations of a patient living with a challenging and variable chronic illness.

This is an opportunity to get into a fast growing digital health startup to help build a model health coaching program working with nationally known experts in pain psychology. You will be mentored by a pain psychologist and have the opportunity to learn and expand on your skills in coaching around digital therapeutics, acceptance and commitment therapy, and the latest in pain management.

This is a work-from-home position. You may reside anywhere in the United States as long as you have the ability to work normal CT, PT or ET business hours.

Role is for 10-30 hours a week initially as an independent contractor with the opportunity to expand to full time as performance and patient volume allows.

Specific Duties:

  • Support patient self-management of disease, health and lifestyle behavior change and engagement with digital therapies in a patient-centered way.
  • Assist patients with downloading and using the digital therapies we offer
  • Measure patient health data and care outcomes, interpret reports and analyze data trends for patients.
  • Coordinate and conduct video, phone, synchronous and asynchronous interactions, and messaging with patients.
  • Develop relationships with patients and competently use assessment skills to identify physical, psychosocial, financial, and environmental health-care needs of the patient.
  • Utilize available electronic tools, such as the EMR, to efficiently document assessments, clinical findings, plans of treatment and progress toward goals.
  • Work under the supervision of clinical providers and maintain scope of care within parameters for health coaching role
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.

Requirements

Communication and Coaching Skills:

  • Empathic and clear communication skills in conveying health information and tech support
  • Motivational interviewing skills
  • Evidence-based health behavior change coaching skills.
  • Provide realistic and patient-centered SMART goals.
  • Considerate, comprehensive and compassionate care with respect and sensitivity for cultural differences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and present materials if necessary, and to execute and maintain written reports and records.
  • Exhibits exceptional interpersonal skills and proper judgment when dealing with key partners, staff and patients.

Background: Able to pass detailed background checks according to company policy.

Technological Skills:

  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
  • Expert with mobile applications, virtual visit technology, electronic medical record and Google Workspace.
  • Experience with training patients to smartphone apps and connected technology.

Technical Requirements: Broadband internet connection capable of supporting video telemedicine.

Experience:

  • Health Coaching: 2 years (Preferred)
