Technical I.T. Project Manager – EST Working Hours (Remote)

ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa – we are a global BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) company, partnering with a USA-based client in the healthcare industry.

We need a skilled Project Manager to lead a remote technical team and ensure efficient and accurate project delivery. The successful candidate will oversee AI Engineers, Python Developers, Server Managers/Data Loaders, and Excel Power Query/DAX Experts—while also rolling their sleeves up to work on tasks themselves (hands-on).

PLEASE NOTE:

Working Hours: This role requires you to work EST hours Mon – Fri from 9am to 6pm EST (15h00 to 24h00 South African time – subject to change dependant on daylight savings)
Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
Power Backup: A reliable power backup solution is required to manage load shedding and power outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
Work Environment: This is a remote role for South African Citizens only.

Responsibilities:

Direct and manage the remote team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
Oversee task planning and execution using sprint-based methodologies.
Engage with partner companies to confirm requirements and provide progress updates.
Lead projects through all phases, proactively resolving barriers to success.
Contribute hands-on effort to project tasks as required, beyond supervisory duties.
Offer technical insight and support leveraging expertise in Python.
Guarantee data accuracy and integrity across all project deliverables.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years management experience, specifically managing remote working programming teams.
Proven track record with sprint-based projects (Agile/Scrum).
Strong understanding of Python and Excel.
Experience with Power BI will be an added benefit
Ability to push results without bureaucracy.

Preferred Skills

Experience with database management, Power BI, data security, or Azure.
Familiarity with AI, data loading, or Power Query/DAX.
Comfort with tools like ClickUp, Jira, Trello, or Asana.
