Technical Founder / CTO (New Venture Talent Pool)

How will you have impact?

  • Set the technical vision and execution strategy for this new venture in tandem with the evolving business model
  • Establish a deep understanding of the target customers; the needs, wants, pains and opportunities that underpin this venture
  • Champion user/customer interactions and data-driven decision-making
  • Rapidly evolve from a MVP to a fully established product, and continue this iteration cycle to create maximum value for your customers, being primed for scale
  • Establish appraisal metrics and progress indicators that focus tightly on making progress towards even deeper product-market fit
  • Guide the venture in the optimum direction based on customer development, market feedback and strategic imperatives
  • Rapidly surface relevant data and make decisive decisions that effectively resolve issues and challenges in order to maintain forward momentum
  • Build your company’s product & technology team from the ground up


  • Demonstrated experience as a Founder or Leadership Team member for a highly technical startup or new business line. You’ve experienced significant highs, lows and learnings as a technical entrepreneur
  • Ideally bring a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Masters or PHD in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Deep Learning or Inference, Natural Language Processing, Large Language Model related field
  • Experience leading startups from early stage to scale, and through raising subsequent funding rounds. You can effectively translate your technical knowledge to bring all relevant parties on the journey with you
  • Deep technical knowledge and domain insights, with a focus on cutting edge, breakthrough solutions
  • Experience of rapid product iteration through prototyping, build, launch and scale phases
  • Strong experience of multiple programming languages, contemporary technology stacks, distributed systems, APIs, databases and software testing toolkits
  • Belief in agile development practices and clean code, with a focus keeping final user performance front of mind
  • Track record of having taken calculated risks to create fresh value
  • Experience managing distributed technical teams and facilitating strong remote collaboration
  • Innate strength of leadership – ability to build, manage and inspire entrepreneurial teams
  • Exceptionally well organised, ruthless in prioritising allocation of time and resources in pursuit of a regular cadence of outcomes and progress


You will report to the newly created Venture Board and will have an equity component to your compensation. Whilst you won’t directly be employed by Rainmaking APAC, we will partner very closely together on your founding journey and to set you up for success.
