Technical Architect – Catalyst
Summary
The Technical Architect (TA) works within the Catalyst team at IOG, taking responsibility for the hands on development and implementation of the systems architecture Catalyst requires to run the business. Working closely with the Lead Architect and guiding the development team, this hands-on role gathers any technical changes or functional requirements and works with their team to ensure these are successfully and seamlessly incorporated.
In addition, the TA and their team monitor for potential threats and ensure these are promptly addressed.
Duties
- Ability to architect solutions based on customer requirements using the capabilities of IOG suite of products.
- Building and integrating information systems to meet the company’s needs.
- Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it.
- Resolving technical problems as they arise.
- Providing supervision and guidance to development teams.
- Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed.
- Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.
- Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have.
- Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets.
Requirements

- Ability to integrate any updated specifications and requirements into the systems architecture.
- Explain complex problems to management in layman’s terms.
- Good knowledge of data systems, structures and networks
- Excellent understanding of utility services architectural principles
- Strong decision making skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to initiate and manage relationships with customers at all levels
- Critical thinking, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving expertise
- Intrinsically curious and passionate about researching current and emerging technologies and developing innovative solutions
- Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design.
- Previous project management experience is advantageous.
- In-depth understanding of coding languages (Rust, Python, JavaScript).
- Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases.
- Efficient communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering or related field
- Extensive Experience in Customer facing roles
- Experience and understanding of multiple technical domains – application, data, integration, enterprise architecture
- Enterprise experience
- Consulting and/or sales experience
- Experience in any of the key subject areas, with a demonstrated history delivering consulting services across the following:
- Enterprise Architecture (Strategy, Planning, Standards)
- Integration
- DevOps
- Security and Operations
- Experience with distributed systems and blockchain related technologies.
- Experience of existing blockchain frameworks (Hyperledger, Corda, etc.)
