Tax Accountant / Assistant

EMAPPLY is seeking a skilled Tax Accountant to join a growing Australian accounting business. As a Business Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with managing tax compliance, preparing tax returns, and assisting with tax advice to clients. This is an opportunity to work with a diverse client base and contribute to the successful operation of a growing accounting firm.

Role: Tax Accountant

Location: Fully remote, South Africa.

Business Location: Sydney, Australia.

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience. Estimated R 25,000 Per Month

Working Hours: 4am – 12pm (midday) SAST – (12pm – 8pm Sydney Australia time)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and identify tax planning opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations
  • Provide tax advice and guidance to clients
  • Assist with tax audits and inquiries
  • Manage and maintain client relationships
  • Collaborate with team members on tax-related projects
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Assist with financial analysis and forecasting
  • Conduct research on tax-related issues

Requirements

  • Xero accounting experience essential
  • Proven work experience as a Tax Accountant/ Business Accountant/ Assistant Accountant or similar role
  • Knowledge of Australian tax laws and regulations highly preferred
  • Australian Self managed Super Fund experience highly preferred
  • Proficient in using tax software and other accounting tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • CPA qualification or similar certification
  • Experience with tax audits and inquiries
  • Knowledge of financial statements and reporting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Self sufficient work from home setup – stable internet, UPS, secure computer, headset and webcam
