Systems Administrator
We are currently looking for a talented and ambitious Systems Administrator to join our
Infrastructure Team. As part of the Infrastructure Team you will get the chance to work with a
wide array of cutting-edge technologies and help maintain our customers’ platforms. We work
with some of the largest publishers across Europe and operate in a high traffic environment,
handling 100’s millions of page impressions each month.
Requirements
• Build, install, configure, upgrade & maintain both physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Ensuring that our systems are consistently delivered quickly and with high availability.
• Working with the development team to design fast, scalable systems.
• Scripting/automation skills: BASH/sh, PHP, Python, Perl etc.
• Removing performance bottlenecks from current systems.
• Apply and update system upgrades, firmware and infrastructure changes.
• Proactively monitor and manage the health and configuration of the system. Takes corrective
actions based upon Standard Operating Procedures.
• Must be available to work outside of normal business hours to fulfil production and project
needs, provide 24×7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
Requirements
• You must have 3+ years experience administering Linux/UNIX systems.
• Familiarity with the various cloud computing platforms, Amazon AWS, DigitalOcean and
Linode etc.
• Understanding of container technologies: containers (Docker, podman, LXC), Kubernetes
• Understanding of the PHP language, how best to set up and configure.
• DevOps experience is desirable.
• Networking tools/technologies: HAProxy, ingress (containers), routing, firewall (iptables or
nftables).
• You must understand TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP and DNS well enough to debug common
problems.
• We work with a variety of different systems and customers, where creative problem solving is
an important skill to have.
• We use Nginx, PHP, MySQL, Redis, and Varnish extensively. If you have experience working
with any of these platforms, it’s a distinct advantage.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies.
• You will be working with several groups of developers so you must have excellent
communication and time-management skills.
