Candela Academy is an education company that offers personalised support for secondary school students and parents in the UK. Our services include Academic Mentorship and Online Tutoring for (I)GCSEs, A-Levels and Extended Project Qualifications. We are looking for a highly organised, dedicated and customer-oriented Student Coordinator. Our Student Coordinators play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of Candela Academy that ensure each student’s success. You will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the academic journey of your designated students.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the student’s academic journey by coordinating the team of tutors and mentors while managing the administrative and operational procedures required to support the students
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal (the wider Candela team) and external stakeholders (students and parents), working as the link between them
  • Keep up to date on student’s progress, and report back to the team regularly with potential value add solutions to support the student
  • Proactively manage and foresee issues by resolving complaints or escalations in a timely manner
  • Regularly research and stay up to date on the UK education sector, providing the wider Candela team with updates on relevant information

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) from a UK or US university
  • Fluency in English, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • High attention to detail
  • Customer-oriented thinking
  • Strong research abilities
  • Highly technologically proficient
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure
  • Software use: Proficiency in most mainstream office software, including:
    • Google Workplace (Drive, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc)
    • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams etc)

Bonus (in order of importance)

  • Prior experience in a customer service, project management or other transferable role
  • Knowledge of the UK education system and academic cycles
  • Prior experience in the education industry
  • Strong academic background and profile
  • Fluency in Mandarin
