THE ROLE
As a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and improving our platform. You will work across the stack to deliver high-quality, scalable, and original features. You’ll bring a mix of entrepreneurial spirit, startup experience, and technical expertise to the team, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle.
You will report directly to our VP of Product, while partnering with the Engineering team, Product team, and leadership. In this role, you will bring excitement for delivering value to our customers and achieving engineering excellence.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable features and services across our full stack, primarily using Golang, TypeScript, and React
- Exemplify and drive high engineering standards around code, documentation, hiring, vendor selection, and solution architecture decisions without getting bogged down by deliberation
- Work autonomously, taking ownership of projects from conception to production
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and design to deliver impactful solutions
- Contribute to the technical and architectural decisions to improve our platform and engineering practices
- Act as a mentor to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to solve complex problems
MUST HAVE
- Robust technical background with proficiency in Golang, TypeScript, and React. Knowledge of modern development practices and architectural patterns
- Proven experience working in Seed or Series A startups, with knowledge of the challenges and dynamics of early-stage ventures
- Demonstrated ability to learn by doing, with a portfolio of side projects or contributions to open-source projects
- Top-notch problem-solving skills, with the ability to work quickly but thoughtfully, balancing momentum with quality
- Proficient communication and collaboration skills, capable of working well in a team environment as well as individually
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience as an early startup hire, founder, or entrepreneur. A history of learning from failures is considered a valuable asset
- Knowledge of IPFS or other Web3 technologies
- Experience mentoring and unblocking junior developers to contribute to their success

Pinata follows a structured interview process. If we move forward with your application, our typical interview process for this role includes:
- 30-minute Phone Screen with our Head of People & Operations
- 30-minute Interview with our VP of Product
- 1-hour Design Systems and Architecture Interview with Engineering
- 1-hour Technical Interview with Engineering
Some roles will have additional take-home assignments or technical interviews. Candidates may also be asked to meet with additional team members at the hiring manager’s request.
Pinata Compensation Philosophy
At Pinata, we compensate our team fairly and consistently by analyzing market data and benchmarking to ensure equitable, unbiased compensation.
In accordance with pay transparency laws, Pinata provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired and performed in the United States. For the United States only, our salary range for this role is $165,000 – $186,000. For any additional countries where this role may be hired and performed, compensation will be established by location. Compensation will be finalized during the interview process based on experience, competencies, and market data. In addition to salary, we offer equity and competitive benefits where eligible.
