Sr Shopify Backend Developer

We are looking for a talented Senior Back-end Developer to join our dynamic team!

This is a full-time position that requires working during Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours and will involve supporting the team with backend development tasks.

Responsibilities include:

• Document and evaluate any downstream impacts to business processes resulting from new features released on Shopify POS
• Collaborate with product owners on the client team to collect requirements for customizations, if necessary.
• Collaborate with data engineers on the client team to assess impacts to data flows of downstream systems, if necessary.
• Collaborate with architects to assess impacts to payload and performance of new features, if necessary.
• Maintain calendar and release schedule for new features

Requirements

• 5+ years as a Backend Application Developer on web applications.
• Working knowledge of Shopify POS
• Education: Degree or certification in software development
• Communication: Fluent writing and speaking in English
• Great cross-functional communication skills
• Ability to function at a high-level within a highly productive delivery environment
• Good organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of TypeScript/Node JS.
• Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
• Excellent understanding of API (Rest, GraphQL).
• Good understanding of Shopify Plus & Public and Custom Shopify Apps
• Valuable having experience in other programming languages, such as Python/Ruby/PHP.
• Good understanding of SQL database
• It’s valued if you have a strong background in web-based eCommerce applications
