The Role:
The Laravel Software Engineer will develop software solutions and work with a team of developers responsible for building new proprietary digital tools/platform for Brado.
Ideal candidates for this role will live in the St. Louis, MO or Dallas/Ft. Worth TX areas. While our day-to-day work is done remotely, our teams gather in person for intentional work.
Key Areas of Responsibility 
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure goals and timelines are met.
- Develop tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code
- Reviewing and debugging environments to create high-quality software design and architecture.
- Design, develop, modify, implement, and support software components anywhere in the software stack.
- Determine root cause for the most complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.
- Remain current on modern technologies and available vendor packages; evaluate and make recommendations as necessary.
- Work as part of a team of Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
- Recommend process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes, documenting the development phases and monitoring systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
- Extensive experience with the following: PHP/Laravel, and JavaScript
- Experience with Github/Bitbucket,
- Extensive experience with SQL Databases such as MySQL/MariaDB, MSSQL and MongoDB and React/Remix Framework.
- Experience with API testing techniques (i.e., Postman).
- Experience with designing and implementing unit tests.
- Knowledge with RestAPI, JSON.
- Knowledge building CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket.
- Demonstrable understanding of software engineering best practices, including OWASP standards.
- Experience with the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
- Ability to design and develop multi-tenant environments that support features such as theming, regionalization, and multi-lingual.
- Software development and deployment experience in Microsoft Azure platform.
- Experience with chat interfaces, web sockets, message polling.
- Experience developing microservices architecture and Container Orchestration services including Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Container Apps.
- Basic knowledge of Azure resources and secure deployment of solutions in Azure utilizing infrastructure as code.
- Strong OOP modeling skills.
- Experience working on an agile team.
- Experience with relevant privacy regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, HITECH.
