What’s the role?
The Senior Surveyor is responsible for the planning, execution and quality of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) surveys. This includes the operation, data acquisition, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of collected data. They are also expected to:
- Be responsible for survey systems including positioning and survey sensors offshore
- Responsible for calibrations, real time data QC and data collection
- Monitor, measure, and report on operational and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) matters
- Manage communications with software and hardware manufacturers and the office for survey related issues
- Prepare mobilization and calibration documents
- Be responsible for Operational and Survey reports
- Develop detailed survey plans, including mission objectives, routes, and data collection parameters
- Collect high-quality geophysical and hydrographic data using HAUV systems
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Carry out mission planning and Quality Control of those activities
- Assist in Pre-Dive checks and configuration, onsite or remotely
- Assist in Piloting, onsite or remotely
- Assist in launching and recovering Subsea Equipment according to the Operating Procedures and within the operating range of sea states
- Ensure that all Survey logs, video records, and survey sensor deliverables are produced satisfactorily and filed for reference. Participate in observing and data recording
Requirements
Who are we looking for?
- Demonstrated leadership role in offshore surveys
- Proficient in installing, interfacing, and calibrating electrical and mechanical equipment for Survey and Inspection scopes, such as pipeline inspections and various geophysical surveys.
- Experience using various configurations of survey equipment, such as MBES, SSS, SBP, Pipe Trackers, etc.
- Have excellent problem-solving skills to adapt to unexpected situations and find ways to achieve the best performance from the skill sets you possess.
- Knowledge of Subsea Operations: A strong understanding of subsea infrastructure, including pipelines, cables, platforms, and other subsea structures, is crucial. Familiarity with subsea operational techniques for intervention and survey work scopes.
