Senior Software Engineer (Rust) – Scaling
Summary
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will provide deep engineering expertise and work across agile teams in Mithril to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will leverage your knowledge to consistently challenge the status quo, innovate for business impact, and remain at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances. This role will report into the Engineering Chapter.
Duties
- Promote best practices in software architecture, design, development, delivery, deployment, and operations.
- Provide technical expertise in Rust programming for blockchain development.
- Crafting high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code for blockchain solutions.
- Actively participating in strategic technical decision-making, with a focus on designing core components for our blockchain platform, prioritizing security, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including blockchain researchers, product owners and managers, and DevOps engineers, to deliver high-impact blockchain solutions.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in blockchain development. Innovate and integrate new solutions into our platform.
- Review specifications produced by architects and our product specialists.
- Be knowledgeable of distributed and concurrent computation.
- Be knowledgeable of the basics of cryptography.
Requirements
Key Competencies
- Proficiency in Rust programming, with a proven track record in software development within a blockchain environment.
- Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and concurrency
- Knowledge of blockchain technology and its core concepts, such as consensus mechanisms, cryptography, and smart contracts
Education / Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, with at least a 3 years focus on Rust programming language.
- You have a customer-centric, solution-oriented and actionable approach to solving problems.
- Experience in remote work and collaboration across different time zones.
- Experience working in scale-ups.
- Good communication skills, with ability to present technical topics to internal audience (e.g. leadership) and external parties (e.g. customers, partner, etc)
- Experience working with Git.
- Practical experience with Agile software development methods
- Knowledge of functional and object-oriented programming paradigms
- Degree in Computer Science is desirable but not essential
