Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack
Cadmus is the market-leading solution in Higher Education assessment in Australia and is beginning its expansion into the UK and North America.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack to join our team and build ground-breaking products and features that break down barriers to learning. This is a high-energy, high-responsibility, high-autonomy and high-impact role, where you will work across multiple codebases on Elixir/Java and ReactJs alongside a small team of cross-functional developers to solve various product, engineering and architectural design challenges. Requirements
Performance Objectives for this role:
- Independently build and deploy a range of internal and external applications using modern front-end technologies (e.g., Typescript, React), server-side languages (e.g.Java, Ruby, Elixir), databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), cloud (e.g., AWS, GCP) and APIs (GraphQL, RESTful).
- Work with other software leads on developing continuous integration (CI) pipeline and unit test automations using Github and Jenkins – Ensure applications are robust, responsive, bug-free, scalable and performance oriented, with the solution being O(n)
- Be a one-person army when needed, jumping in on priority issues and fixing them proactively, and significantly contributing to solving problems at scale, using solutions based on previous projects/problems faced.
- Quickly build expertise, with minimal handholding, across the range of technologies employed by Cadmus through a mix of on-job training, discussions and self-learning.
- Own development, maintenance and advancement of part(s) of the codebase, and serve as a subject matter expert for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive best-in-class execution on projects by constantly lowering the mean times for effort estimate, idea to production, and MTTR, through efficient development practices, resulting in frequent deployments with minimal issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals. You will care about learning, growing, and helping others do the same.
- Bring your passion and work ethic to the table every day, and constantly set the example for others. Constantly find ways to up skill yourself and improve upon the status quo.
