Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

A leading online bookstore and market services for educational institutions in the United States is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer.

The company’s product is a full-service online solution that allows you to save significantly on textbooks and other learning materials, as well as give administrators and teachers control over the entire process. Since its inception, the service has saved more than $161 million for university and college students.

You’ll be part of a close-knit team and work remotely from anywhere in the world.

Your tasks on the position:

• Develop creative and innovative solutions for the next generation of educational learning.
• Participate in all aspects of the application development life cycle including specifications, prototypes, development, quality assurance, deployment, and operations.
• Participate in software architecture and design discussions.
• Develop and modify internal and external facing software as part of an engineering team.
• Participate in team code reviews, presenting your work for feedback and providing constructive feedback to others.
• • Support development with appropriate documentation of your work
• Test your work hands on and with automated tests; shepherd it through the quality assurance and release processes.
• Support the on-call operations of the team, troubleshooting and resolving issues when they arise

Requirements:

• 4+ years of application and API development experience
• 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
• Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
• Experience with Git or other source code control systems
• English B2+

Will be an advantage:

• Experience with microservices, APIs, integrations with third party services.
• Prior experience with SSO standards such as SAML and OIDC is helpful but not required.
• Develop creative and innovative solutions for the next generation of educational learning.
