Compensation

Starting Base Salary $130,000

Who We’re Looking For

The objective of the Senior Product Manager is to lead and work with a cross-functional team to deliver on their roadmap. The Senior PM provides strategic input that delivers quantifiable value for end users while ensuring the financial health and growth of the business. The Senior PM draws on their experience to provide business and user-centered analytical decision making while providing leadership that enables a highly-functioning team to quickly execute on strategic priorities.

  • Drives and manages strategic product roadmap priorities. Aligns with business owner’s expectations and articulates vision for the pillar
  • Drives goal setting and KPIs for the pillar and aligns to user value and financial outcomes for Discogs
  • Runs the execution of large-scale projects, driving alignment with cross-functional teams to plan, align, and deliver product and feature launches
  • Keeps a keen eye on team dynamics, spots problems early and leads resolutions to maintain a highly functioning team
  • Coordinates with stakeholders such as Marketing and UX to incorporate market and user analysis into product decisions
  • Uses thorough documentation to establish requirements and use cases for the purpose of stakeholder alignment and building epics and stories for the backlog
  • Represents business interests and the implications and dependencies that come from other teams when making product decisions
  • Constantly communicates with stakeholders about project timelines and regularly engages with RACI members to ensure progress
  • Consistently evaluates the backlog against capacity and communicates with their manager and pillar leads about constraints
  • Validates information that impacts scope, timeline, and resources to ensure work is worth doing and can be accomplished
  • Works closely with Product Coordinator(s) and other pillar team leaders to communicate roadmap priorities, ensure day-to-day execution, and coordinate product launches
  • Uses data to recommend, monitor, and track the viability of the roadmap and overall health of the pillar’s areas of ownership
  • Monitors the pulse of the community during product and feature launches
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years work experience in a product role 
  • Professional certification preferred, e.g. CSPO, Project Management, software development methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Lean, etc.)
  • Possesses project management experience and/or certification
  • Has ability to effectively present and communicate information to stakeholders and senior management
  • Experience using Product Development tools (Atlassian suite preferred–Jira, Trello, and Confluence)
  • Experience working in online communities and/or ecommerce environments is required. Having history as a Discogs user may be considered as a suitable substitute
  • Has ability to analyze data from various sources such as analytics tools, reports, and surveys
  • Experience with large scale, high traffic websites that operate on a global scale is required
  • Has extensive experience working with service-oriented architecture and microservices; APIs; automated testing; continuous deployment
  • Understands agile principles and drives iterative processes to release and improve upon feature and product launches
