Senior ML Data Scientist – Women’s Health

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Data Scientist to work within the Women’s Health team to develop and commercialize novel new machine learning models and algorithms.

What you will do: 

  • Build and deploy machine learning pipelines and models for Women’s Health features.
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team of scientists, product managers, software developers, product designers, test engineers, etc. to commercialize new features to bring value to our members.
  • Deliver robust statistical analyses of machine learning models and algorithms for model performance evaluation, monitoring, and for drawing insights to support product decisions. 
  • Conduct early stage exploratory research to identify and characterize new potential health sensing features and functionality.  Develop proof-of-concept features and work with a cross-functional team to take these from POC to a commercialized product.

This is a remote US role with a slight preference for candidates based in San Francisco, San Diego, or Boston. 

Requirements

We would love to have you on our team if you:

  • Have a PhD  in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, biostatistics, computer science or a related field with 3+ years of experience, OR a Master’s degree in related fields with 5+ years of experience.  Healthcare or health tech experience is preferred.
  • Have experience building and deploying Machine Learning models from start to finish (i.e., data wrangling/queries, data cleaning, model building & tuning, statistical evaluation of model performance).
  • Have 3+ years of solid programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Have a strong understanding of probability and statistics.
  • Are self-driven and motivated.  For this role you should be able to work independently and be able to take a task and run with it with very minimal supervision.
  • Have strong communication skills.  You will be working with a remote cross-functional team. Strong proactive communication skills will be a must for this role. 
  • Can accommodate occasional off hour meetings with European colleagues and traveling for onsite meetings up to 3 times per year.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates’ pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 $165,000 – $200,000
  • Region 2 $156,750 – $189,500
  • Region 3 $148,500 – $179,000
