Senior HR Consultant

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist who has worked in an HR agency/consulting environment handling multiple client accounts simultaneously.

  • This role will manage and oversee the Human Resources portfolio for various clients serviced by the consultancy.
  • With the assistance of a small HR team, this role is responsible for managing end-to-end client delivery and providing strategic advisory (focus areas are HR, Talent Management, Industrial and Organisational Psychology).
  • This role requires a professional who can lead HR initiatives, ensure compliance, and enhance workforce effectiveness while developing the HR portfolio within various businesses.

Reporting To: Managing Director

Location: Cape Town

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Work Set-up: Remote (ad-hoc visits to clients around Cape Town)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all HR portfolios (employee life cycle elements) within various client businesses:
    • Statutory Compliance (UIF, COIDA, EE, SDL etc)
    • Employee related paperwork (contracts, policies, letters, memos etc)
    • Remuneration & Payroll
    • Onboarding & Induction
    • Probation & Performance Management
    • Training & Development
    • Disciplinary Management / IR
    • Talent Management & Retention
    • Offboarding
  • Drive Organizational Development elements focusing on:
    • Organisational Design
    • Vision, Values & Culture
    • Job Analysis
    • Employee Wellness and Engagement
    • HR Analytics
    • Group Dynamics 
  • Provide strategic HR advisory services to clients on all people-related initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary contact for selected clients and maintain strong relationships.
  • Provide sector-specific HR insights and best practices to the internal team and clients.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Honors Degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organisational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior HR Consultant, Senior HR Lead or similar role.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an HR agency/consulting environment handling multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Strong industry expertise across sectors such as Petrochemical, Construction, Retail, Finance, Hospitality, and Agriculture.
  • Expert proficiency in HR and productivity software (Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Asana, ClickUp, Toggl, Payspace, Simple Pay, Workable, Canva).
  • Based in Cape Town (Non-negotiable)
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle required for client visits in Cape Town.
  • Ability to speak English & Afrikaans very comfortably.
  • Psychometric Assessment experience is advantageous.
