Senior Financial Analyst

EMAPPLY is currently seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst with a focus on fragrance business systems to join our client’s team remotely at a leading perfume and fragrance house in Australia. This role will be responsible for managing financial accounting tasks while also providing analytical support to optimise fragrance business operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, exceptional written communication skills, and a deep understanding of fragrance industry dynamics.

Role: Senior Financial Analyst

Hours: Monday to Friday, 1am – 9am SAST

Salary: AUD 3290 – 3700 per month | ZAR 40 000 – 44 000 per month

Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting:

  • Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

2. Fragrance Business Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of fragrance business systems, including inventory management, supply chain, and sales performance.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise business processes and drive efficiency.

3. System Maintenance and Improvement:

  • Oversee the maintenance and integrity of fragrance business systems, including software applications and databases.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline operations and enhance system functionality.
  • Provide training and support to team members on fragrance business systems as needed.

4. Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate financial and operational performance to stakeholders.
  • Clearly articulate findings, recommendations, and insights through written communication.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure alignment and transparency in reporting.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):

1. Financial Accuracy:

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and accounting tasks.
  • Minimise errors and discrepancies in financial statements and transactions.

2. Analytical Insights:

  • Provide actionable insights from fragrance business analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue optimisation, and operational efficiency improvements.

3. System Efficiency:

  • Ensure the smooth functioning and optimal performance of fragrance business systems.
  • Implement system enhancements and upgrades to improve functionality and user experience.

4. Communication Effectiveness:

  • Deliver clear and concise written communication in reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Facilitate effective communication between departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting and financial analysis, preferably in the fragrance or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of fragrance business systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
