Requirements

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain software that automates mortgage-related processes and facilitates collaboration among different end users.
Work closely with founders, senior engineers, and design teams to understand customer needs and turn them into effective, practical software solutions.
Help shape the engineering strategy and contribute to creating new product features and planning the team’s work.
Design scalable systems and services that are easy to update and expand, while making decisions carefully even under pressure.
Foster a security-first mindset when developing new features.
Break down and organize large projects into manageable tasks, making sure everyone understands and agrees with the plan.
Encourage everyone to document their work and share knowledge, which helps in team and stakeholder collaboration.
Create an environment where everyone feels safe to express their thoughts and disagreements, and is open to new ideas and perspectives.
Ensure that team discussions focus on meeting organisational goals and strategies.
Regularly review and improve team methods and workflows, and work together on broader company practices when needed.
Guide and support team members in a kind and understanding way, aiming to build skills and cover for each other when necessary.
Use thorough debugging methods to find and fix problems. Set up and enhance monitoring using the company’s approach and real-world data to make services more stable and performant.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
3+ years of experience working with Frontend Javascript frameworks like React, Angular or something similar.
3+ years of experience working with NodeJS.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering preferred.
Experience designing and managing databases. Any from Postgres, Mongo, MySQL.
Deep understanding of AWS infrastructure and services.
Experience working with Terraform is preferred.
Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and Agile methodologies.
Proven experience (3+ years) leading a team or architecting a large-scale enterprise product.
Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-driven with a strong work ethic and a passion for excellence.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of design patterns, data structures, distributed systems, and machine learning.
Prior early-stage startup experience is highly preferred.
