Senior Dev Ops Engineer (Remote)

As a DevOps Engineer, your role is to support and maintain the company’s internal and production systems. You’ll assist with release management, automation tasks, system maintenance, and security and configuration activities. In essence, you’ll serve as a “build, deployment, and infrastructure automation engineer.”

Your responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring high availability of internal and production systems.
  • Implementing and maintaining performance, optimization, and capacity standards for Linux/Windows server technologies company-wide.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed and comprehensive documentation and diagrams.
  • Performing software deployments and releases.
  • Participating in on-call coverage for support of systems outside of normal business hours.
  • Resolving network issues in the absence of existing System/Network Admin staff.
  • Assisting developers and QA Engineers in applying testing environment changes including making DB updates, property changes, and others.
  • Following up with Developers to ensure Release Plans are updated properly.
  • Monitoring AWS infrastructure health and performance, and implementing proactive measures to prevent and mitigate potential issues.
  • Providing guidance and support to developers and QA engineers on AWS-related tasks and best practices.

Requirements

  • Understands AWS Cloud Computing.
  • Proficient in IaC tools, especially CDK.
  • Skilled in Docker, Jenkins, Apache, and related tools.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of Networking and IDS/IPS.
  • Experienced in Linux and Windows Administration.
  • Familiar with virtualization technologies like HyperV and VMWare.
  • Understands encryption and VPN technologies at a basic level.
  • Aware of ITIL standards.
  • Has basic MySQL and command line scripting skills.
  • Proficient in Git and Bitbucket.
  • Willing to learn and grow in AWS scripting and automation.
