Senior DBA with SQL Server

Zipdev is looking to add a Senior DBA with SQL Server from LatAM to its remote team of international developers. The client offers best-in-class secure, scalable, cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions. Our solutions are advancing electronic disease surveillance, contact tracing, laboratory testing, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain database server and related application tools
• Plan for and allocate database system resource requirements
• Manage database user access and security
• Ensure compliance with database vendor license agreements
• Create backup and recovery strategy; perform regular DR testing Create queries for reporting and analysis as needed
• Monitor and optimize DB performance
• Database backups and restoration as needed
• Generate database documentation, relational diagrams, data dictionaries, etc

Requirements

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, software engineering, or equivalent work experience 
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience with large scale software database projects and processes   
• Experience in SQL Server stored procedures, SQL, data replication and SSIS 
• Experience with the development of dynamic sql, loop processing and cross-server database considerations 
• Experience with SQL performance tuning 
• Experience with data analysis and root cause identification 
• Strong knowledge of computer systems, operating systems, system security, database management and web platforms  
• Experience with database migrations including client to private cloud for MSSQL Server and POSTgres 
• Working AWS experience with SQL databases running on EC2 and RDS 
• Provide accurate and timely work estimates 
• Time management and teamwork skills  
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical information in layman’s terms. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task
