Senior Blockchain Engineer (Remote, Global)

We’re seeking a Senior Blockchain Engineer with Cosmos SDK to help build our Layer 1 Solution to support our Web3.0 Blockchain team in our upcoming testnet and mainnet

This role involves designing and implementing smart contracts on a Cosmos-based chain, ensuring data integrity and security, and optimizing data access and scalability to support our Web3 project’s needs.

We are a remote-first organization looking to build an engineering team primarily focused on European and US East Coast time zones. Some travel may be required, but only occasionally.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • 3+ years experience working with one or more of the existing Blockchain Technologies e.g. Ethereum (or other EVMs), Solana, Polkadot
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, C#, Go or Rust
  • Experience with blockchain/DLT development frameworks like Cosmos SDK, Substrate and Hyperledger, or equivalent experience building layer 2 infrastructure like rollups
  • 3 years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

Nice to have

  • Previous experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable and robust blockchain infrastructure using the Cosmos SDK and other relevant blockchain technologies.
  • Proven experience as a blockchain developer, with strong expertise in the Cosmos ecosystem, including Cosmos SDK and Tendermint.
  • Experience in designing and implementing, and deploying bridges for a Cosmos-based Layer 1 chain.
  • Previous experience in Layer 1 blockchain development – preferably developing and deploying testnets and mainnets
  • Excellent documentation skills.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • This position will focus on designing developing and maintaining Cosmos modules as well as smart contracts for the Nillion Network, ensuring security, efficiency, and scalability as well as maintaining the Nillion blockchain code base.
  • You’ll work to leading a team of developers in designing and implementing interoperability bridges between the Cosmos network and other Layer 1 blockchain platforms, focusing on secure and reliable asset and data transfers.
  • As part of our growing Blockchain function this position will spearhead the development of an end-to-end payment system tailored for the Nillion Network to support “Blind Computation,” ensuring the system adheres to privacy and security requirements.
  • You’ll help to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for deploying, managing, and utilizing the network and its features, including detailed user guides and troubleshooting procedures.
  • As part of our team you’ll help oversee network deployments, including testing and integration of new features and updates, and maintain network performance and security at all times.
  • Occasionally you’ll be required to mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Working in tandem with our team this role will coordinate with other team leads and stakeholders to align project objectives, timelines, and resources, ensuring efficient workflow and project success.
  • This position will also allow you conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and contribute to professional development plans for team members.
