Salesforce Technical Architect

Vantage Point Consulting (a Dallas-based, 100% remote consulting firm) is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Technical Architect. This individual will own and design technical architecture solutions that span multiple Salesforce clouds and include integration and authentication across systems; manage the development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of highly secure solutions that are optimized for performance and built to scale; articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architecture. This position is 100% remote.

Requirements

  • Responsible for designing and implementing the most technically complex components of a solution
  • Responsible for functionality, performance, resilience, reuse, comprehensibility, scalability, security, technology constraints and tradeoffs of the solution being built
  • Provide technical leadership for Solution Architects, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, and client stakeholders
  • Meet with clients to capture technical requirements and accurately estimate the time required to implement the technical solution
  • Deliver detailed architectural blueprints to client stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate risks across the entire technical architecture
  • Write code examples, build proofs of concepts and prototypes to serve as a blueprint for developers
  • Set quality standards and ensure adherence to them
  • Manage any change that may have negative effects on speed, performance, security, and ability to handle a particular workload
  • Participate in selection and strategy of quality assurance processes and tools
  • Advise, setup and maintain release management strategies to ensure optimal deployment of new technologies, including continuous integration and continuation deployment models
  • Contribute to the growth of the technical team through thought leadership, development of solution accelerators, creation of technology standards, coaching and mentoring and participation in other operational areas (recruiting, training, etc.)
  • Participate in the sales cycle (solution definition, pre-sales, estimating and project planning)
  • Research, create adoption strategies and enable new technologies

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in software development
  • 7+ years of experience delivering technical consulting services for complex system implementations; minimum 3+ years hands-on technical experience with multiple Salesforce clouds
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of data strategy, data integration design, data migration and data architecture
  • Deep understanding of SFDC concepts and practices. Able to identify the need and recommend the use of apex and Visual Force to meet a business requirement.
  • Experience in Managed Package Implementations.
  • Strong understanding of database design concepts, data migration and data integration.
  • Must have experience in developing System Architecture Documents
  • Demonstrates excellence in understanding complex business processes and ability to apply scenarios to Salesforce “Story-lines” as well as make business process modification suggestions to align with Salesforce best practices.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; executive-level presence and experience facilitating meetings.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical business users from various backgrounds including sales, support, and marketing.
  • Salesforce Administrator and/or Developer certification required.
  • Experience with both agile and waterfall implementation methodologies.
  • Strong experience with web applications, databases, and a variety of programming languages
  • Strong experience with object-oriented development
  • Superior knowledge and experience of Salesforce platform design patterns and Salesforce limitations
  • Superior experience designing and implementing API integrations
  • Strong experience leading technical requirements gathering and solution design sessions with clients
  • Strong experience in enterprise-level projects using Agile software development methodologies throughout the whole development lifecycle
  • Experience with data migrations from third-party systems to Salesforce
  • Strong Salesforce development and design skills including Apex, Lightning, SOQL, Process Builder, Flow, and other standard and advanced Salesforce automation tools
  • Superior understanding of when to use a declarative solution versus a code solution on the Salesforce platform
  • Superior experience recommending alternative approaches, analyzing impacts, and facilitating sizing estimates
  • Superior experience conducting unit, integration, and performance testing and participating with users for user acceptance testing to support a successful project outcome
  • Superior experience analyzing and mitigating bugs and issues as needed to support a successful project outcome
  • Strong experience leading design and code reviews
  • Superior experience leading release planning and deployment
  • Superior technical writing skills. The ability to take the lead role in developing comprehensive solution design documents, application architect, integration architect, nonfunctional requirements, and deployment documentation.
  • Superior ability to explain and present the most technical concept in simple terms to any audience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Salesforce Application Architect and System Architect Certifications
  • Experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud with integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi or Informatica
  • Experience in cloud technologies other than Salesforce such as Amazon Web Service, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud

Salary Range: Compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $150,000 – $184,000 annually.
