Job Description

Gamesquare is seeking an experienced Sales Director to join our enterprise sales team (remote). This person will be a fearless, self-motivated, and highly creative individual that has partnership experience in gaming and esports, experience in branded content, IRL and digital media including programmatic, live streaming entertainment, and/or creator communities. They will help steward our sales strategy by monetizing key 1st and 3rd party assets and serve as the client’s voice in developing partnerships that meet their KPIs. The ideal candidate has a history of bringing on new business and meeting or exceeding sales quotas, and loves the challenge that comes with outbound prospecting in a competitive market. This role reports into the Global Head of Sales.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve yearly and quarterly revenue targets.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting clients to securing the contract.
  • Be a consultative and creative partner to client-direct, media agencies, creative agencies, PR teams and sponsorship agencies to sell company designated programs and/or develop meaningful custom solutions.
  • Prospect, pitch and close new content, media, sponsorship and experiential deals in support of individual and department revenue goals.
  • Work collaboratively with all Gamesquare teams including, but not limited to, Marketing, Talent, Legal, Operations, and all cross-functional organizations including, Gamesquare Media Services, Complexity Esports, Zoned, Fourth Frame Studios, SideQik and Stream Hatchet.
  • Assist in developing key sales strategies and go-to-market initiatives to generate long term media, content and sponsorship revenue streams.
  • Provide weekly reporting of sales metrics including pipeline generation, account status, revenue and quota attainment, and relevant sponsor interaction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in sales, with the ability to demonstrate a consistent history of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience and passion for gaming & esports highly preferred
  • Deep understanding of the media and influencer space and how to utilize their social channels to drive brand engagement.
  • Successful experience working directly with brands and media/sponsorship agencies on developing creative partnerships through sponsorship packaging, content development and influencer marketing.
  • Highly entrepreneurial spirit, with detailed organization and able to function independently.
  • Ability to manage up when challenges arise to collaborate on solutions with management
  • Strong storyteller who is able to communicate the value of a community, premium content, and how to move consumers through the sales funnel.
  • Able to deal with rapidly changing priorities and business circumstances with excellent internal and external communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and efficiently lead and prioritize multiple projects at once.
  • Experience working with brands that market to Millennials & Gen Z
  • Some travel is required

  • Experience working for a gaming/esports company
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
