Proposal Specialist

The Proposal Specialist is a highly-skilled player with a keen eye for detail. This individual will play a significant role in identifying and managing winning Request For Proposal (RFP) submissions and related processes for new business at FMX.

Under the supervision of the VP of Revenue Operations, the Proposal Specialist will be primarily accountable for analyzing open request for proposal requirements and ensuring 100% accuracy of chosen responses. Collaborating with other FMX teams, focused within the Sales, Engineering and Product function, this role will identify and evaluate prospect requests (RFP, RFQ, RFI, etc.), confirm the technical requirements, coordinate responses and help lead project management efforts within the pre-sale proposal process alongside Sales. Other duties include assisting the Sales and Customer Success teams with prospect and customer quotes as needed. Success in this role will depend upon developing a deep understanding of our product, market needs, pricing strategies, and customer procurement processes.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Identify RFPs as they become public, evaluating the requirements against FMX’s strengths and weaknesses, providing recommendations for response
  • Understand individual RFP requirements and coordinate the appropriate response criteria across teams
  • Ensure 100% accuracy of responses on behalf of FMX, and manage the required submission procedures as dictated by individual RFP requirements
  • Create and manage procedural, technical and non-technical documentation related to the RFP process at FMX, including a response library and related technologies
  • Track the efficacy of submitted RFP responses, providing feedback and analysis to management
  • Assist with the creation and tracking of program KPIs and goals related to RFPs, delivering insights to leadership
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of FMX product offerings, pricing and related tech stack (Salesforce and DealHub CPQ) to assist in operational processes and reporting


Relevant Skills & Experience:

  • 1+ years experience in the SaaS industry, performing duties related to proposal/contract submissions, either through writing requirements, coordinating operational efforts, quotes/pricing or similar preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working across multiple teams, including Sales, Product/Engineering and Finance
  • Ability to understand and translate various levels of technical complexity as it relates to product functionality and prospective customer needs
  • Comfortable evaluating internal processes, providing feedback and suggesting improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and prioritization.
  • Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM), Google/Microsoft suite and various design tools preferred.

  • The base salary range for this position is expected to be $60,000. This position is also eligible for $15,000 in variable compensation. On target earnings for this position is $75,000.
