Product & Privacy Counsel (Korea)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented Product & Privacy Counsel to join our team at k-ID. As a Product & Privacy Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support to our product and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and occasional engagements with external clients and regulators. You will play a key role in helping us navigate legal complexities and mitigate any potential risks that may arise. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a strong legal background and experience in the technology industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to our product and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to online safety, child privacy, and data protection.
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements, including privacy policies, terms of service, and intellectual property licenses.
- Assist in conducting legal research and analysis on various topics affecting the company’s products and operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations, and communicate any changes or updates to internal stakeholders.
- Support the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to legal and compliance matters.
- Assist in managing legal disputes and investigations, as necessary.
Requirements
- Law degree from an accredited university and admission to practice law in Korea or common law jurisdictions.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the technology industry.
- Strong knowledge of Korea and international laws and regulations related to online safety, child privacy, and data protection
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide practical and strategic legal advice.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Knowledge of intellectual property laws and licensing agreements is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Korean is required.
- Physical presence with hybrid work in Singapore is preferred; remote employees are eligible.
