What you’ll be doing
Our Lead Product Design role is a part leadership, part IC role. We’re still small enough that you will need to roll up your sleeves, and be involved in the design work yourself (at least initially). You’ll work alongside our existing Designer and shape the overall UX of the n8n product. However, you’ll also be building for the future, making this function scalable as we navigate our rapid growth plans. As your team grows, this role will naturally transition towards leading and developing your team, while meeting strategic and analytical goals that ensure n8n’s place as best-in-class for design and UX among our competitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and leading a best-in-class UX / Design function at n8n. We’re looking for someone who knows what good looks like at various different company stages, and can take our Design team through a growth journey.
- Contribute to vision setting and strategic direction of the overall n8n product, working closely with other leaders to move towards a common goal.
- Own, audit and continuously improve experiences and journeys throughout the n8n platform and all other design relevant areas. (Brand, Website, Communications etc.)
- Working with the people team and CEO to define team composition for Design @ n8n, then hiring managing and coaching that team towards success. (Both for n8n, and as individuals pursuing their own career goals!)
- Product discovery — take ideas from conception to design, user testing and rapid iteration to make sure that they work
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product design, ideally spent working with complex B2B software products
- At least 2 years of experience leading design teams, ensuring delivery while coaching and mentoring team members of all senioirty levels.
- Ideally, you will have experience working in design teams at companies of various stages. You’ll be able to clearly understand our stage, and create a lean, efficient team fit for our purposes.
- Ability to Lead UX research programmes that inform the wider design operation. You’ll be able to present these insights to the wider business, and use them to inform every design decision.
- A great portfolio that showcases both interaction and visual design skills, plus your ability to iterate on ideas
- While it’s not a hard requirement, some coding experience would also be very useful to someone leading design at n8n. We’d love to see some background within Computer Science or Development
Benefits
- Career opportunities. We are looking to hire ‘rising stars’, who can grow with the company into more senior roles. We give you €1k a year to spend on courses, books, events and coaching, to support you in developing your career
- Transparency. We all know what everyone’s working on, how’s the company doing — the whole shebang
- A passionate team. We love our product. We have regular office hackathons to see who can build the coolest thing with it
- We’re big fans of open source, and you’ll get $100 per month to give to projects you care about
- Being fair is really important to us. Equity? Of course we give you equity
This role can be done from anywhere within Europe. We can sponsor visas to Germany; for any other country, you need to have existing right to work. Our company language is English.
