Political Innovation Associate
Movement Labs is a not-for-profit movement incubator and the leading peer-to-peer text political consultancy supporting progressives and grassroots activists nationwide. Our clients span both establishment and movement efforts, from senior Democratic Congressional leadership to Black Lives Matter. Movement Labs’ Experiments team discovers and tests new, high impact, and cost-effective methods of persuading and mobilizing voters to help stop the far right. This opportunity is fully remote.
Ahead of the 2024 elections, Movement Labs is launching a political tactic incubator with unprecedented ambition. Our goal is to explore, analyze, and scale innovative strategies that persuade, mobilize, and register voters to counteract Trump’s influence. We are committed to investing millions in successful initiatives, focusing on new organizing programs and turnout tactics. These efforts will target low-turnout, high-opportunity voters in marginalized communities, persuade Republican voters toward President Biden, and enhance voter registration efforts.
We’re seeking a talented Associate for the Political Innovation team to help organize and execute our experiments.
You are the ideal candidate if you are:
- Can start ASAP
- Obsessed with details, can ground sky-high discussions into decisions and next steps and begin executing within an hour.
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can handle multiple workflows simultaneously
- Organized and a good note-taker
- An extremely fast study with new material
- Experience with political campaigns and familiar with experimental methods and political science
Responsibilities:
- Drive action items forward to meet the Experiments team’s deadlines
- Work in Asana to ensure smooth implementation of experiments
- Liaise with Operations team to ensure experiments are executed smoothly
- Assist in creating voter lists and working with voter file data
- Other miscellaneous tasks to support the execution of experiments
- Participate in brainstorming sessions
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Dedication to building progressive power; and an understanding of campaigns, organizing, and/or quantitative analysis
- Ability to work independently and regularly communicate status updates
- 1+ cycle of campaign experience
- Experimental design and political science field methods familiarity preferred
- Remote experience preferred
- BA or equivalent preferred
- Graphic design and video editing experience preferred
Benefits
Salary: $50,000-$65,000 depending on experience.
