Marketing Strategist

The Marketing Strategist will be a part of the Growth Team and work with our VP of Operations to turn SmartLogic’s marketing goals and campaigns into detailed campaign plans and implementable marketing strategies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct extensive research to better understand our clients and to identify market opportunities.
- Utilize marketing tactics to promote SmartLogic’s brand awareness and our services in order to attract and retain clients.
- Work with our VP of Operations to develop creative marketing campaigns; develop detailed project plans for the same.
- Collect data to report on and improve the effectiveness of our marketing initiatives.
- Maintain our brand positioning and narrative so as to target the proper audiences.
- Own ongoing maintenance of marketing collateral and other externally facing material on SmartLogic’s website and Sales team materials.
SmartLogic is a custom software development consultancy serving clients since 2005. We are committed to our team, our clients, and the communities where we work. With your assistance, we will quickly bring more unique and innovative company initiatives to fruition.
This is an individual contributor role focused solely on marketing SmartLogic and our services; we do not offer any marketing services to our clients. You will report to the VP of Operations. The VP of Operations will be responsible for (1) project managing and executing the marketing plans you create; and (2) hiring and managing any individuals or contractors we may need (e.g. copywriters, content creators, etc.) as we execute our marketing initiatives.
Requirements
- Multiple years of experience working in a B2B marketing context, preferably in custom software and/or professional services
- Professional experience designing and building detailed project plans for multi-month marketing campaigns
- An intuitive and analytical understanding of modern marketing channels and how to produce content across those channels in order to maximize effectiveness of campaign goals
- Experience interviewing clients, participating in sales calls, and working with those on our sales team to collect information about prospective and existing clients in order to inform marketing efforts
- Experience selecting, configuring, and analyzing data collected from digital marketing tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Hubspot) to improve marketing efforts
- Demonstrated track record creating and executing effective earned media strategies
- Excellent business and professional writing skills; exemplary command of English language and grammar
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and grow marketing campaigns from a limited initial customer base into scalable endeavors, utilizing a blend of innovative tactics and data-driven insights to expand market reach and engagement effectively.
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $110,000, depending on relevant experience.
This position is fully remote and you may work from anywhere in the United States. We offer health, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited PTO, unlimited sick leave, paid parental leave and a 3% matching SIMPLE IRA program. Occasional travel (~3-6 times a year) to attend planning meetings in Baltimore, MD, client meetings, and conferences is required.
New employees are allowed a one-time $500 home office set-up allowance. Additionally, every employee is offered $300 bi-annually towards work from home expenses.
