Legal Counsel
As an integral part of our dynamic legal team, the Legal Counsel will collaborate closely with the Legal Project Manager to support and guide the legal team in a variety of critical tasks. This role is pivotal in navigating the complex and evolving landscape of cryptocurrency regulations. The Legal Counsel will play a key role in shaping the legal framework of our operations and ensuring compliance across all aspects of our business.
Requirements
Main area of responsibility:
● Working closely with Coinmetro legal team
● Assisting the legal team in their assignments regarding the management board, global colleagues, and external parties
● Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of contracts internally and with external partners
● Assisting in various licensing projects in jurisdictions where the Group wishes to open up new businesses or in existing licensing updates and re-licensing initiatives
● Developing and implementing global policies and procedures
Drafting and managing public-facing terms of service
● Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis on various topics
● Identifying potential legal issues and risks associated with current activities, operations, and strategic initiatives; developing strategies to manage and mitigate these risks effectively
● Providing input in risk assessments of new products
● Assisting and supporting the legal team in litigation matters
● Providing daily support to and collaborating with other departments upon their request
● Other administrative roles based on the need of the legal team
To succeed in the role, job holder has:
● A qualifying law degree from a reputable university in Europe (preferably Master’s degree in law)
● 3+ years of post-qualification work experience at a law firm or an international technology company (preferably within the crypto, fintech, or related sectors), with the focus on corporate law
● Excellent English language skills (written and verbal)
● Demonstrable legal analytical skills and ability to understand legal concepts and analysis and translate those to non-lawyers
● Strong project management skills with attention to detail and accuracy
● Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization
● Administratively self-sufficient with demonstrated office automation skills, able to work independently and as part of a team
● Strong advantages would be:
1) a work experience and knowledge in the field of acquiring licenses for fintech companies
2) excellent Estonian language skills (written and verbal)
