Job Overview: We are looking for a motivated Intermediate FOIA Analyst to enhance our team. This role is designed for individuals with solid experience in FOIA processing, ready to take on more responsibility and contribute to complex projects. The ideal candidate will have a track record of managing FOIA requests efficiently and a keen understanding of the nuances of FOIA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage and coordinate FOIA projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between FOIA requesters and the organization, maintaining clear and effective communication.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of documents to assess for necessary redactions or consultations before release.
  • Oversee the maintenance of comprehensive FOIA request logs and ensure accurate tracking of all cases.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to allocate resources effectively and meet FOIA request demands.
  • Manage the organization’s FOIA records, ensuring documents are properly maintained.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the FOIA response process.
  • Prepare detailed FOIA reports and conduct regular reviews to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 total years of experience, 4 years of progressive experience in FOIA “Cradle to Grave” processing
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex FOIA requests and apply relevant exemptions and redactions accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of negotiating and explaining complex FOIA processes to various stakeholders.
  • Proficient with FOIA management software, such as FOIAXpressand document management systems.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret FOIA legislation and its practical application.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with a history of meeting tight deadlines.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to successfully complete a Government background check.
  • Appeal and Litigation experience desired.
