HSO International is expanding its Professional Services industry footprint. It needs an Enterprise Architect with domain knowledge and technical expertise to align technology with business strategy, using Microsoft and third-party solutions for added value. There is a growing need to extend beyond ERP and its traditional implementation approach to understand the needs and transform them into value-added solutions.

Role Location
Based where appropriate, whether on the client site, in the office or working from home. Travel will be extensive and varied. It will be a requirement to spend some time in the office to develop relationships in-house with the rest of HSO International, keep abreast of business developments, and understand the company’s approach to the market.
Job Description
Professional Services Enterprise Architect will be responsible for driving customer business transformation.
This role involves:
- Presales – Engaging with customers early in the sales cycle to explain the art of the possible for Dynamics 365, Azure and associated technologies to help transform their business. Using workshops and envisioning sessions to understand strategy and high-level requirements, then using these to generate compelling business transformation demonstrations, architecture design and proposals. Experienced with responding to RFIs, RFPs and tender processes.
- Architecture Workshops – Leading and supporting the capability and architecture workshops within an envisioning phase. Includes the preparation for workshops with agendas and discovery materials review and the write-up of workshop output. Use business & product knowledge to guide on the appropriate solutions and approaches.
- Best practice materials creation – Work on the internal production of best practices. It covers tools, templates, and content, producing materials that deliver presales activities and EA phases.
- ProServ ISV – Work closely with the HSO Innovation team to help develop our product offering and position our ProServ IP solutions tailored for Legal (Legal360), Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC360) and consulting companies (Relationship360, Project360).
- Research and training – into new trends and solutions that become available through the Microsoft ecosystem or other associated 3rd party solutions. Examples are Open AI, Machine Learning, CoPilot and how these can be leveraged for Professional Services through the D365 landscape.
Critical Responsibilities for Enterprise Architect
It would be best if you had strong communication, analytical, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to excel in this role.
Your responsibilities include:
- Led and supporting pre-sales activities, engaging with C-level executives and crafting business transformation proposals aligned with the business strategy.
- Conducting envisioning discovery workshops and architecture design workshops.
- Making technology choices aligned with architectural requirements.
- Preparing and defining enterprise architecture design, guiding business transformation and business-value approach.
- Providing support in program/project delivery, working alongside Solution Architects and delivery teams.
- Understanding the customer’s operational landscape and leveraging it for architecture validation.
- Staying informed about evolving business technology trends to shape long-term strategic roadmaps and the feasibility of these in supporting our customers.
- Optimizing business processes for greater efficiency and effective technology deployment.
- Undertaking business process design and documentation.
- Facilitating agile, innovative projects alongside the main program.
- Maintaining a professional and positive representation of HSO.
- Complying with health and safety policies and equipment care requirements.
- Meeting necessary certifications and accreditations for the role.
- Developing and updating internal tools and best practice content.
Requirements
The Enterprise Architect needs expertise in industry business, tech, and processes. They rely on specialists for specific areas but must architect diverse solutions.
Essential
- 10+ years of hands-on software implementation experience, leading at least five major enterprise projects or programs.
- Pre-sales experience – ability to interact with customers and C-Level roles in the sales cycle, demonstrating credibility and expertise in the industry.
- Previous experience documenting solutions and business transformation roadmaps
- Adept at Business Requirement Analysis and Architecture Design.
- Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Professional Services Market and customer priorities across verticals within the industry.
- Project Management Awareness
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of the concepts of modern technology
- Expert level in Microsoft D365 ecosystem and suite of solutions
- Experience learning new areas of technology and understanding the capabilities and limitations.
- Broad understanding of all the elements of the Microsoft technology platform
- Awareness and understanding of key players and technologies in the business applications market (e.g., Forecasting / Planning software, POS (point of sale) Solutions, e-commerce, middleware, etc.)
- Good understanding of implementation methodology or demonstrated knowledge of the implementation process for ERP systems.
Desirable
- Educated to degree level in Computer Science or technical subject, or equivalent experience, with further qualifications in Microsoft technologies and industry qualifications, e.g., TOGAF
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure services and Microsoft 365
- Experience implementing solutions for Professional Services companies
- Worked on a solution delivery from the consultancy side
