GIS (Geographic Information System) Analyst
As a GIS Analyst II, you will collaborate with other members of the GIS teams to collect, normalize, analyze spatial and nonspatial data into highly reliable and useful information that will meet and support the current and future business needs. This position is fully remote, and you will be working for a US-based company
You will be expected to maintain knowledge in ESRI products such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and other ESRI products to successfully analyze data, visualize data, and present data. Success in this role will be demonstrated by providing support and expertise in data engineering, creating web maps, geodatabases and some geoprocessing tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze, designs and edits GIS data for numerous Network Services projects
- Utilize ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS and SQL to query numerous data layers and create reports to NS leaders and other departments
- Create and maintain geodatabase to store route acquisition and engineering data
- Transform operational data into usable information based on business needs and maintain the data integrity and accuracy
- Collaborate with other team members to find solutions for GIS issues, and negotiate due dates, staking sheets and more with requesters, peers and the MPIs
- Use project management tools (e.g. Clarity, Jira, SAP, etc.) to track and manage workflow, and make sure the projects and tasks are completed within a timely manner
- Negotiate due dates with requesters, peers and the MPIs
- Conduct digital research to collect data, documents, and other important information, which are subsequently embedded into geodatabases for future access in ArcGIS Online (AGOL)
- Create SOPs and train personnel in using some of the newly developed geoprocessing tools
- Actively participate in GIS related and other meetings and provide constructive feedback
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information System (GIS) or a certificate in Geographic Information System or bachelor’s in data science
- Data analysis, research & reporting methods
- Knowledge of Python, Model Builder and SQL

Remote Work Setup Environment:
- Device: PCs should have at least an Intel i5 processor, while Mac users should utilize recent MacBook models.
- Memory: Ensure a minimum of 8GB RAM.
- Storage: Opt for SSD storage with a capacity of 256GB or more; HDD is also acceptable.
- Connectivity: For seamless remote work, a high-speed internet connection is essential. Aim for a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 5 Mbps, particularly for video conferencing and data-heavy tasks.
