CLOSING DATE: 6th September 2024
Remote role.
The role in a nutshell: Manage the field team performance and activity across the Toyota, Lexus and Redline brands
Requirements
A bit about the ‘Field Sales Department’: The Toyota/Lexus team is split into two regions and ten zones. They manage and develop our partners finance, retention and oversight performance across both new and used cars. The Redline team manage our non-brand relationships, writing business from other OEM sites and used car operations. They proactively seek new sources of finance business.
What you’ll be doing
- Take overall responsibility for the F&I volumes and performance of the Toyota, Lexus, and Redline brands – reporting to the Sales Director.
- Review partner performance with Regional Managers and National Redline Manager, looking at key KPI’s (typically new, used & retention) to identify issues and opportunities – agreeing activity and actions for the sales teams.
- Manage the support levels and performance of the network national used finance plans and strategy – developing and agreeing amendments as necessary.
- Take the lead in negotiating terms and agreeing full support with partners who don’t take the national used finance plan.
- Play an active part in identifying, developing, and launching tactical used finance plans in conjunction with Pricing and Marketing Departments.
- Represent TFS Sales in a broad spectrum of meetings such as Used Vehicle Working Group, Toyota Council Meetings and Operational Leadership Committee, confidently participating in discussions and presenting information decks as required.
- Work with National Redline Manager to identify new sources of quality business – developing the approach, helping to present the benefits of Redline, agreeing the package and account management requirements.
- Work closely with the Oversight Manager to ensure all activity both internally and externally are done in a compliant way delivering ‘good customer outcomes’, taking remedial actions where any gaps are found.
How you could stretch this role
- Further develop the ‘One Toyota’ approach and engagement / integration with the other Toyota entities for the benefit of vehicle and finance sales. This could be from a field sales perspective – but also in the data sharing area to cross sell products.
- The national used finance plans have been successful, how do we further develop the strategy to support book growth maximising engagement with our partners.
- Consider how the future process of vehicles sales will change considering regulation changes and technical innovations – especially in the online arena. How could we take advantage, whilst producing the best customer outcomes. Could AI help for example? A good understanding of this area will be key.
- Redline Finance has grown significantly in recent years with a small team. There are significant opportunities to grow the brand further – not only in the OEM world with the benefit of integrations, but also online and potentially D2C.
- Develop stronger OEM field team relationships to drive performance management; enhance the zone review interface and retention centre of excellence at retailer
Experience you’ll gain
- Build close working relationships with senior management across the Toyota entities and network partners.
- Develop good presenting and negotiating skills – both internally to directors and externally to senior network management.
- The management of 3 different brands and a large team of field sales staff, with developing roles and requirements – especially as the regulatory landscape changes.
