As a Finance Operations Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of financial processes, maintaining accurate records, and optimizing financial workflows. More than just managing numbers, you’ll be a key contributor to strategic financial initiatives, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset. You’ll collaborate with finance, operations, and leadership teams to drive accuracy in financial reporting, support budgeting processes, and improve financial operations.
Accountability
Your success as a Finance Operations Specialist will be measured by your ability to maintain financial accuracy, improve operational efficiency, and support key financial processes. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:
Financial Process Optimization & Execution
- Ensure smooth execution of financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Assist in implementing and improving financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
- Support financial audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
Budgeting, Reporting & Data Analysis
- Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and potential risks.
- Ensure data accuracy in financial records and systems.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Compliance
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations and alignment with business objectives.
- Support compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to financial policies, tax regulations, and reporting standards.
- Work closely with stakeholders to resolve financial discrepancies and inquiries.
Colleagues
Your primary stakeholders will be our client’s finance and operations teams, ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency across departments. You’ll also work closely with leadership, auditors, and external vendors to support financial operations.
At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.
Skills and Qualifications

As a Business Operations Specialist, your vertical focus will be on optimizing business operations, ensuring workflows, processes, and cross-functional coordination drive efficiency. Your horizontal focus will cover strategic thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder management—giving you the tools to identify inefficiencies, drive improvements, and collaborate seamlessly across teams. You’ll be expected to balance high-level strategy with hands-on execution, a key component of delivering impactful results that fuel business success.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Language Skills: Professional fluency in English, with excellent reading, writing, and speaking abilities.
- Experience: At least 3 years in finance operations, accounting, or a related role, preferably in a fast-paced or international environment, with hands-on exposure in using financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, SAP) and Excel/Google Sheets.
- Education: An undergraduate degree is preferred, though relevant work experience is also valued. Certifications such as an MBA, CFA, or CIMA will be considered as an added advantage

Role Specifications
This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 90 days with us.
