Role: Finance Analyst (Investment Banking)
Employment: Full-Time
Hours: 8am – 5pm Mountain Standard Time
Salary: $8 – $14 USD per hour (Open to negotiation based on experience)
Lago is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Analyst specialized in Investment Banking. In this pivotal role, you will support the investment banking team by conducting financial analysis, market research, and valuation assessments to assist in executing transactions.
This is a high-impact, fast-paced role best suited for candidates with strong financial acumen, analytical rigor, and a high degree of proficiency with AI tools.
Key Responsibilities:
You will work directly with senior leadership, associates, and clients to execute capital raise mandates (both debt and equity). Responsibilities include:
Research & Analysis
- Conduct deep industry research to identify trends, risks, and investor sentiment.
- Rapidly learn new industries and their key players, business models, and innovation hubs.
- Source relevant industry and corporate research on:
- Technology and intellectual property
- Market sizes and characteristics
- Key financial statistics
- Perform investor and lender targeting based on sector, investment thesis, and mandate fit.
- Execute competitive benchmarking and SWOT/risk analysis on client companies.
Financial Modeling
- Build and maintain forward-looking financial models, including projections, valuations, and sensitivity analyses.
- Create integrated three-statement models (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow).
- Perform cap table modeling, scenario planning, and return analysis.
- Assist in debt structuring, including terms, DSCR modeling, and covenant analysis.
Marketing Materials Creation
- Draft and design investor-facing documents, including:
- Pitch decks
- Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs)
- Executive summaries
- One-pagers and deal briefs
- Ensure materials align with investor priorities and industry standards.
AI-Driven Workflows
- Use advanced AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Excel AI plugins, Notion AI) to:
- Accelerate research
- Draft documents
- Analyze large datasets
- Enhance visual presentations
- Contribute to building AI prompt packs, templates, and workflows for internal team use.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or venture capital
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Direct experience in capital raising, ideally within healthcare or adjacent sectors
- Mandatory: Demonstrated high-level AI proficiency in research, writing, and financial workflows
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and AI-enhanced productivity/project management tools
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, including building fully integrated three-statement models
- Excellent written communication and time management skills, with the ability to rapidly distill complex information into clear and persuasive investor materials
- Client-facing experience with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate directly with both clients and the senior team to develop high-impact deliverables
- Self-starter with high attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
- Able to handle strict timelines
- Highly preferred: Candidates who have worked at or with U.S.-based financial firms (on-site or remotely)
- Highly preferred: Candidates who hold U.S. financial licenses — SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 (especially from Latin America, as confirmed eligibility for U.S. licensing)
