Job Title: Electrical and Mechanical Estimator

Location: Remote (Hawaii Time Zone Working Hours)

Company Overview: Our client, a leading firm in the electrical and mechanical contracting industry based in Hawaii, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Mechanical Estimator. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for both electrical and mechanical projects. This position requires a strong understanding of both disciplines, including experience in preparing detailed project bids.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical and mechanical projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project scope.
  • Analyze project requirements to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize estimation software and tools to produce competitive and precise bids.

Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that estimates align with project goals and budgets.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid review meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.

Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records of all estimates, including assumptions, methodologies, and sources of data.
  • Update and refine estimating processes and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide detailed breakdowns of estimates and present findings to management and clients.

Working Hours:

  • Must be available to work during Hawaii time zone hours (HST).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in both electrical and mechanical estimating.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and practices in both disciplines.
  • Proficient in estimation software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Hawaii-specific regulations and practices is a plus.
  • Worked for a US Based company is highly desirable
  • Can work Full-time (40 hours a week)

Salary: $1200-$1500
