Job Overview:

The Director of Recruiting will lead and oversee the VA agency’s talent acquisition strategy and operations. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing recruitment processes to attract and hire top talent for a virtual workforce. The Director of Recruiting will work closely with senior leadership and hiring managers to ensure that recruitment goals align with the agency’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Recruitment Strategies:
    • Design and execute effective recruiting strategies to attract high-quality candidates for remote positions.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and implement best practices in virtual talent acquisition.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage the remote recruitment team to achieve departmental goals.
    • Provide training and development opportunities for the recruitment team to enhance their skills.
  • Candidate Sourcing and Pipeline Management:
    • Establish and maintain a robust talent pipeline through various sourcing methods (e.g., job boards, social media, networking, and virtual recruitment events).
    • Develop relationships with colleges, universities, and professional organizations to promote the agency and attract potential candidates.
  • Recruitment Process Management:
    • Oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, from job requisition to onboarding, for remote positions.
    • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the virtual recruitment process.
    • Implement and manage applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools suited for a remote environment.
  • Collaboration with Hiring Managers:
    • Partner with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and provide guidance on recruitment strategies for remote roles.
    • Assist in creating detailed job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position.
  • Metrics and Reporting:
    • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to measure the effectiveness of recruiting strategies.
    • Prepare and present recruitment reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for improvement.
  • Diversity and Inclusion:
    • Develop and implement strategies to ensure diversity and inclusion in the recruitment process.
    • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the recruitment team and throughout the agency.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful recruitment strategies for remote positions.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
