About The Position
Director-level positions at Impactual support a diverse portfolio of philanthropic, nonprofit, and brand strategy clients. The Artist Engagement Director position will help scale Impactual’s work advising and/or partnering with celebrities, artists, community influencers, and their teams to advance social impact goals. You will develop strategic plans, set clearly measurable goals, and ensure all aspects of your plan are implemented effectively and on time. This individual will manage day-to-day operations of key stakeholders, including relationship management and development, scheduling, and event planning. We are a small firm with an all-hands-on-deck team; no task is too small and responsibilities may evolve as project needs do.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Business Development. Take the lead in growing the firm’s celebrity/artist/influencer advising practice by developing and executing a plan to pursue new business opportunities for the firm. This will include providing strategic insights about industry trends, conducting proactive outreach to potential clients/partners, coming up with solutions to problems as they arise, and marketing Impactual.
- Client Engagement. Build relationships with existing and prospective Impactual clients; communicate and maintain trust with clients through prioritizing their goals, encouraging feedback and guaranteeing satisfaction with services provided. Quickly grasp the subtleties of complex issues and identifies patterns in challenges with clients; anticipate client or team needs and/or potential issues, while identifying and proposing solutions to challenges; juggle competing demands, plans ahead for busy times, prioritizes, and uses tools without sacrificing quality; course-corrects when needed.
- Strategy and Project Management. Develop strategic recommendations for nonprofit and philanthropic partners on best ways to engage with celebrities, influencers, and artists. Develop all materials (including plans, budget, agendas, social media assets, emails, etc.) that celebrity/artist/influencer/team member may need to execute a plan effectively. Manage all incoming requests and communications for clients via phone and email; ensure meticulous notes and appropriate follow-up from calls/meetings; manage across project teams with clarity on project goals, team roles, and task assignments; and maintain detailed client project tracker systems.
- Representing Impactual. Professionally represent the company in meetings, webinars, phone calls, and over email. This includes ensuring all work products meet Impactual’s quality control standards including proper grammar, proper formatting, integrity, and originality. Act as public relations representative for the company in ways that strengthen its profile.
- Promoting Strong Internal Culture. Supports the development of healthy internal culture rooted in Impactual values, proactively identifying opportunities for values advancement, and working with partners to identify and address challenges. Delegates responsibilities and manages team members to ensure all client goals are met and delivered in a timely manner; communicates company policies throughout the organization and ensures they are followed at all times; conducts annual performance reviews.

- Experience Working in the Entertainment Industry Required. We are looking for someone enthusiastic about leveraging knowledge and experience working with celebrities, artists, athletes, influencers, and their teams to support critical social impact projects.
- High-Impact Project Manager. Proactively owns scopes of work, asks for help, anticipates problems, and proposes solutions for efficient execution; identifies, organizes, tracks, and communicates goals and action items with 100% follow through; demonstrates excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills that contribute to overall impact and produces the highest quality work product.
- Meticulously Attentive to Detail. This role will include a significant amount of tracking, organizing, and proofreading, particularly as it pertains to our individual philanthropic clients. You have a keen attention to detail, ability to work well with Google Sheets, and always review something twice before completing it.
- Inclusive Manager. Effectively manages staff and vendors from concept to execution. Sets other team members up for success – both above and below you – by explicitly defining success, identifying potential risks, and offering useful and actionable feedback (positive and constructive) with empathy and intention. Contributes to the team’s ongoing learning by proactively including others in a safe, supportive workplace.
- Effective Communicator. Honestly, proactively, and effectively communicates information across teams and stakeholders, asks questions, remains open to feedback, and builds and maintains relationships; observes and adapts to others’ decision-making, alignment, and communication styles; gives and receives helpful, constructive feedback with positive intention; understands that people are complex and that treating each other with openness and respect ensures that conversations are both productive and inclusive.
- Flexibile. A willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, as well as an eagerness to take on new projects and clients as assigned. Team members are able to understand that our work and our clients depend on things being done well no matter what the task.

The Details
Compensation. Impactual aims to be a responsible and supportive employer and cultivate a fun and inclusive work environment. The title and salary of this position will be determined based on experience level, along with commensurate salary and project authority. For transparency, salary ranges for Principal-level positions at Impactual start at $115,00-$185,000 and are eligible for annual performance-based bonuses.

Remote Work Environment. Impactual is a fully remote team. All team members must be located within the continental United States and be actively online and available for meetings between the hours of 10am and 5pm ET, regardless of where they live and work. Team members can expect to travel for work approximately 5-7 times per year (subject to change based on client assignments).
Transparent Hiring Process. To ensure an equitable hiring process, please note that we do not meet with applicants outside of our formal interview process. Qualified applicants will be asked to participate in an initial 15-minute phone conversation and, if selected, a subsequent 30-minute video interview. Finalists will be asked to submit a 90-minute written simulation and 45-minute video call to meet with numerous members of the team (at which stage we encourage extensive questions about team member’s experience with the firm). We strive to be highly communicative throughout this process and have a goal of a formal offer being extended by mid-to-late June 2024.
