Dev Ops Engineer (Remote, Philippines)
As a DevOps Engineer, your role is to support and maintain the company’s internal and production systems. You’ll assist with release management, automation tasks, system maintenance, and security and configuration activities. In essence, you’ll serve as a “build, deployment, and infrastructure automation engineer.”
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring high availability of internal and production systems.
- Implementing and maintaining performance, optimization, and capacity standards for Linux/Windows server technologies company-wide.
- Developing and maintaining detailed and comprehensive documentation and diagrams.
- Performing software deployments and releases.
- Participating in on-call coverage for support of systems outside of normal business hours.
- Helping resolve network issues in the absence of existing System/Network Admin staff.
- Assisting developers and QA Engineers in applying testing environment changes including making DB updates, property changes, and others.
- Following up with Developers to ensure Release Plans are updated properly.
- Monitoring AWS infrastructure health and performance, and implementing proactive measures to prevent and mitigate potential issues.
- Providing guidance and support to developers and QA engineers on AWS-related tasks and best practices.
Requirements
- Has understanding and exposure to AWS Cloud Computing Solutions.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and willingness to learn others.
- Proficiency in Docker, Jenkins, Apache, TomCat, WordPress, and Testlink.
- Has a fundamental understanding of Networking, IDS/IPS, and SAN.
- Has a solid knowledge of Linux and Windows Administration with a willingness to learn and grow in these areas.
- Has exposure to virtualization technologies such as HyperV, VirtualBox, and VMWare.
- Has a basic understanding of encryption methods and practices.
- Familiarity with VPN technologies such as SonicWall and/or OpenVPN.
- Awareness of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) standards.
- Has basic skills in MySQL database administration.
- Has exposure to Cypress for testing is a plus.
- Has basic command line scripting skills in BASH, PowerShell, DOS Batch, etc.
- Has basic proficiency in source code management using Git and Git services like Bitbucket.
- Willingness to learn and grow in development skills that utilize other applicable requirements, such as scripting AWS operations, modifying Docker YAML files, and automating or tweaking IP tables through scripting.
