Data Scientist (Movement/Adapt)

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Adapt squad to help build data algorithms powering the most inclusive and automatic capture of movement.
What you will likely work on:
- Help automate the end-to-end Movement experience
- Improving our Workout Heart Rate algorithm
- Improving our step and calorie counting algorithms
This is a remote US role with a strong preference for candidates based in the US Eastern Time Zone.
Requirements
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
- Have 4+ years of relevant work experience (including deployment to product) as a data scientist/ML engineer
- Have worked with time-series data from a multi-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, or similar MEMS sensors (preferably in the consumer wearable space)
- Advanced level proficiency with Python (including scientific/ML libraries, functional programming, modular code design, unit testing, understanding time/space complexity)
- Expert level proficiency in SQL and data wrangling, and comfortable contributing to and maintaining the data pipelines for the features you develop
- Familiarity with end-to-end development using AWS (or a similar cloud service)
- Nice to have skills/abilities
- Experience with Pytorch (or tensorflow or similar deep learning framework)
- Experience working in consumer wearable space
- Embedded systems/firmware development

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates’ pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
- Region 1 $137,250 – $157,750
- Region 2 $130,388 – $149,363
- Region 3 $123,525 – $140,975
