Data Scientist

Acelab is the all-in-one building materials hub for the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering industry. Acelab streamlines material selection, comparison and management for architects and engineers with AI-powered product recommendations. Conversely, Acelab empowers building material suppliers and manufacturers to unlock specification growth by providing them a strategic Go-to-Market channel to accelerate their product adoption.

As a Data Scientist, you will develop and manage Python scripts to extract, classify, and export data from websites, leveraging your problem-solving skills to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the field.

What you’ll do:

• Develop, deploy & run python scripts to:
• Crawl websites and extract their URLs
• Identify which URLs contain product information
• Extract the text, images & linked files of such URLs
• Identify which files contain product info by training a Machine Learning (ML) model
• Classify the text contents from the web page and files by prompting a Large Language Model (LLM)
• Combine & export all of the extracted data

Requirements

• 3+ years of Python experience
• Excellent problem-solving skills and an eagerness to overcome obstacles with creative solutions
• A passion for experimenting with cutting-edge & ever-evolving technologies where no best practices have been established for yet
• An entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to take ownership of the scraping process from start to finish
• The ability to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Experience with machine learning models or prompt engineering is a plus, but not required
