Job Description

NuvoLogic Consulting is seeking a Data Scientist with a strong background in statistics, machine learning, and data analysis. The qualified candidate will work with our clients to analyze and interpret complex data sets to solve challenging business problems and drive data-driven decision-making. The Data Scientist will collaborate with cross-functional project teams, including technology, business, and subject matter experts, to design, develop, and deploy predictive models and algorithms that generate actionable insights and recommendations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify, collect, and analyze large volumes of data from various sources to uncover patterns, correlations, and trends.
  • Use statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to build predictive models and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Develop and implement data processing pipelines to clean, transform, and organize data for analysis.
  • Apply data visualization techniques to effectively communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business problems and translate them into analytical questions.
  • Design and execute experiments to validate hypotheses and measure the impact of data-driven solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and tools in data science and machine learning.
  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Focus will be on financial management, risk management and quantitative projects.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SAS.
  • Strong programming in RStudio, Jupyter and VSCode
  • Proficient in SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with RShiny data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, or mortgage finance is a plus.
