Credentialing Specialist
Job Summary:
The Remote Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the credentialing and recredentialing process for healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining the integrity of credentialing databases. This role involves direct interaction with providers, clients, and various regulatory bodies to verify qualifications, update records, and ensure timely processing of credentialing applications.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead, monitor, and maintain the credentialing and recredentialing process within established timeframes.
- Respond swiftly and accurately to emails, calls, and texts from providers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the credentialing database, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and accurate.
- Verify that prospective providers meet the required experience, education, credentials, and certifications for their respective roles.
- Protect confidential information pertaining to providers’ work history and personal medical information.
- Prepare and present provider files to clients, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and uploaded into the system.
- Ensure that the Medical Staff Office (MSO) credentialing database is current and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Conduct primary source verifications for internal processing as well as external customers, including MSOs and State Boards.
- Provide timely follow-up to obtain necessary documentation and resolve any outstanding credentialing issues.
Requirements
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with providers, clients, management, and co-workers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and credentialing software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in credentialing, particularly within the healthcare industry, is highly desirable.
Salary: $6-$7 USD per hour
