Team’s Mission / Work Responsibilities

As CMO of Mercari Group’s fintech business, you will drive strategy and execution with the aim of achieving massive growth.

You will be responsible for supervising a wide range of marketing initiatives—from the planning of media initiatives such as digital ads and television commercials, to collaborative promotions with our merchants, to user-facing initiatives for Mercari users—and contributing to further business growth for Merpay.

In addition, you will also be expected to maintain a holistic view of synergy across Mercari Group, planning and executing marketing initiatives that involve the group as a whole.

Specific work responsibilities include the following:

  • Advancing initiatives in collaboration with product, design, sales, engineering, and other divisions
  • Defining and managing the marketing budget
  • Planning and executing marketing strategies for new services within Merpay and Mercoin

Unique and Bold Challenges

Merpay visualizes credit information using transaction data from Mercari, and continues to launch various new services with the aim of using credit to create a society in which people can enjoy the things they love.

  • To achieve disruptive business growth within the rapidly changing fintech industry, we must carry out a variety of marketing initiatives, from the planning of campaigns and media initiatives such as digital ads and television commercials, to collaborative promotions with our merchants, to user-facing initiatives for Mercari users. This role comes with a wide range of responsibilities, but for those with an active desire to grow and broaden their knowledge and expertise, it is also an environment in which you can take on bold challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Shared understanding and belief in our company’s mission and values
  • Experience in B2C marketing
  • Experience building comprehensive marketing strategies
  • Experience working collaboratively with various roles, such as product managers, engineers, and designers

Preferred Qualification

  • Marketing experience at a fintech-related business
  • Experience working in an English-speaking environment

Employment Status


  • Probationary period: First 3 months after joining the company. (During this period your contract conditions will be the same as that of a permanent employee.)
