The CJIS ACE team supports this mission by ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of criminal justice information systems used by the public safety community. Our CJIS ACE team works directly with criminal justice agencies and their vendors, leveraging decades of experience designing, implementing, and managing CJIS Audit Programs, to help them understand the requirements for securing criminal justice information found in the FBI’s CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) Security Policy.

About the role

CJIS ACE is expanding its team and looking for a full-time IT Auditor to help lead our audit support and compliance initiatives. This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional auditing and become a pivotal resource for agencies nationwide.

You will be building strong relationships by communicating directly with clients, answering their most pressing compliance questions, and contributing to the design of secure solutions. Your role will also be hands-on, as you configure and support audit accounts that empower our partners to maintain the highest level of security. As a CJIS IT Auditor, the primary responsibilities include:

  • Leading state audit projects 
  • Conducting Criminal Justice Agency Audits
  • Conducting Non-Criminal Justice Agency Audits 
  • Developing project work plans and coordinate audit schedules
  • Developing state CJIS processes 
  • Updating client CJIS documentation 
  • Communicating with agencies regarding upcoming audits
  • Supporting local agencies as they complete their audits through calls and emails
  • Organizing and reading through client documentation to verify compliance 
  • Analyzing a client’s existing policies for compliance and areas of improvement
  • Creating audit and compliance reports for clients

Requirements

This job might be for you, if you have the following:

  • 2-4 years of IT auditing experience
  • Experience with the CJIS Security Policy 
  • Working knowledge of the NIST 800-53 security framework
  • Working knowledge of IT Infrastructure and security technologies
  • Ability to maintain client and data confidentiality
  • Can confidently pass rigorous fingerprint-based state and federal background screenings, as required by the nationwide agencies we work with (mandatory)
  • Currently reside in one of these states: FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, MO, NC, NJ, NY, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA
  • Do not require sponsorship to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available for this position
