Chief Procurement Officer (Oman based)

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Chief Procurement Officer based in Oman. As the CPO, your main duty will be to develop and implement procurement strategies that enhance operational efficiency, decrease expenses, and oversee supplier relationships. This position is crucial and requires extensive knowledge of procurement industry standards, market trends, and effective team leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the overall procurement strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality results.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives through negotiation, strategic sourcing, and supplier consolidation.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting thorough assessments to ensure quality, dependability, and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to optimize terms, cost, and service quality.
  • Monitor and analyze procurement performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical procurement practices.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and innovation within the procurement field.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and alignment across the organization.
  • Identify and manage risks within the supply chain and develop effective mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing procurement strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
