We are seeking an ambitious, respected and well-networked individual to join our team as Chapter Director in Lusaka, Zambia. As a Chapter Director, you will have a significant influence on our country strategy, activities and the long-term impact of ABL on Zambia. You will actively drive our brand awareness, recruitment and activations for the chapter. You will interface with prospects, clients and partners to deliver meaningful value to our market in all stages of the ABL lifecycle, and you will champion the interests of your chapter in an ongoing pursuit to move the needle on the growth of Africa.

Key aspects of this role:

  1. Marketing
    Leverage the ideas and principles of ABL to deliver authentic value to prospective candidates. Focus on creating compelling engagements and learning opportunities for the market, and raise awareness for the benefits of the ABL programme. This will involve putting together and speaking at events, attending 3rd-party events, writing content, hosting workshops, etc.
  2. Recruitment
    Develop and track a pipeline of interested and eligible prospects by actively networking with business leaders and sharing the benefits of ABL. Scout, recruit and interview eligible candidates for the programme. This will involve calls, meetings/interviews (online & in-person) and proposing prospective candidates for consideration.
  3. Network Management
    Act as the primary touchpoint for ABL in the Chapter. This includes developing relationships with prospects, active candidates and, importantly, the alumni network. You will be a champion of these networks, actively communicating and engaging with them to create shared value.
  4. Business Development
    Actively seek opportunities to grow ABL and its impact in your Chapter and across Africa. Establish relationships with potential strategic partners and work closely with Head Office to creat win-win partnerships.
  5. Other Responsibilities
  • Provide insights, input and recommendations on country and regional strategies;
  • Report on Chapter performance, news, updates and trends;
  • Manage the Chapter budget & performance;
  • Develop relationships with local industry leaders and influencers;
  • Establish, coordinate and manage local relationships with events companies, venues and other suppliers;
  • Assist with recruiting, appointing and interfacing with staff, affiliates and partners in-country and across Africa.

You have a genuine interest and curiosity in people’s stories and you prefer to ask good questions, rather than pretend to have all the answers.

Advantageous characteristics include:

  1. Proven ability in marketing, sales and network management. 
  2. Senior management experience spanning at least 5 years.
  3. A keen interest in business leadership and personal development.

The Chapter Director position provides the right person with the opportunity to work on a flexible & remote (in-country) basis, with no upper limit to their earning potential.

Expected first-annual earnings:

  • First-year Fixed Basic Pay Range:
    $24,000 – $36,000
  • First-year On-target Variable Pay:
    $40,000
  • Total Achievable On-target Pay:
    $76,000
  • No upper limit to earning potential.
  • Active support in marketing, recruitment & network management from Head Office & other Chapters.
  • Head Office training, toolkits and administration support.
  • Autonomy and ownership of Chapter strategy, with guidance from Head Office.
  • Access to advisors and mentors to enable personal growth and development.
