Carrier Sales Representative
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Carrier Sales Representative to lead and grow our transportation carrier network. In this role, you will manage a team of carrier sales representatives, overseeing the sourcing, negotiation, and onboarding of domestic and cross-border carriers. You will drive carrier strategy, develop long-term partnerships, and ensure seamless coordination between transportation partners and internal teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of carrier sales professionals, setting performance goals and supporting daily operations.
- Develop and execute carrier procurement strategies to meet both spot and contracted freight demands.
- Negotiate competitive rates and capacity agreements with carriers while ensuring service levels meet company standards.
- Analyze freight market trends, capacity fluctuations, and pricing data to guide strategic decision-making.
- Monitor carrier performance, manage escalations, and resolve service disruptions in real time.
- Ensure carriers comply with safety, legal, and operational standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth delivery execution.
- Expand the carrier network by building relationships with both new and existing partners.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in carrier sales, transportation management, or logistics procurement.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of the freight market, pricing models, and transportation capacity.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed, strategic decisions.
- Familiarity with TMS platforms and logistics CRM tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Must be willing to work a split shift, following a Tuesday–Saturday schedule: Tuesday to Friday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM CT and Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT
